In the casemates of Kronborg Castle rests Holger Danske (Ogier the Dane). According to legend and H.C. Andersen’s 1845 tale, he awakens if Denmark is in danger. The statue was created in 1907 by Hans Peder Pedersen-Dan. Deep beneath the castle he sits \u2013 silent, heavy, and ready for battle. <\/p>\n
