The Völvas were women who had an important place in Viking society. They possessed so much knowledge that even the king of the gods, Odin, could use their help and advice. The völva could make contact with the world of the gods and spirits, and she could travel into “other worlds”, bringing back knowledge and wisdom for the benefit of society. The word “völva” can be translated as “staff bearer”. The staff was an important prop in the performance of seid, the kind of magic mastered by the völva.

The design is created in collaboration with the National Museum.

The Völva - 13 cm

The Völva is made of 5 mm laser-cut wood veneer of the finest quality and with a beautiful structure. We always strive to deliver a beautiful and flawless product.
The product may have a slightly burnt odor, which will diminish over time. The product is delivered unassembled in an eco-friendly box with detailed assembly instructions and a small product folder.
Remember to remove the protective foil before assembly. As wood is a living material, it does not tolerate moisture or direct sunlight. Our products are NOT children’s toys and should therefore be placed out of reach of children. Read more product info under “About Wood Viking”.
